The Dark Knight... He Teases Me

On the drive to Council Bluffs to see the show, my friend and I went through the beginning of some pretty rough storms. At one time, we thought we might have been close to a tornado, but I don't even know if a tornado was in the area. What I do know is the wind was whipping around so much, a piece of molding on the car was ripped off of the sheet metal.

We made it to the theater with plenty of time to spare. They asked once if we had a cell phone on us since they weren't allowed. We got our passes, grabbed some popcorn and cokes, and headed to the IMAX end of the theater.

We were greeted by a couple of security guards from Warner Brothers who wanded us to check for a cell phone. The wand went off for my keys and my lighter. He checked them out and let me pass.

Before the screening began, a couple of people from Warner Brothers were introduced to us. They were there to judge audience reaction to the movie. The main guy joked that there was a problem and the movie wasn't going to start until midnight. "Ha ha ha... shut up and let's get it going" was my response.

About an hour and 45 minutes into the movie, everything stopped. The storms hit Council Bluffs, and while the generators for the IMAX section of the theater kept up with four power outages during the movie, the fifth one ended everything.

After a few minutes, we were told that the only way to get the movie going again was to speed the rest of the spool to the end, then spool it back to the beginning and start all over. It was something they weren't willing to do. Everyone that could come back Wednesday night, were given another pair of passes, and they would try it again.

I decided that I now had the perfect reason for going to see the movie again this weekend. I don't even know how it ends!

How good was it? Keep in mind that I was watching the IMAX version... which was put to good use. Some of the shots made me queasy. The story line isn't straight ahead. I was saying "Oh wow" to some of the things I didn't expect to happen.

No matter what I say about the movie, you already know if you're going to see it or not, and I really don't want to give anything away. But...

...at some point in the movie, someone tries to blackmail Batman.

Okay, so there's one little tasty morsel for you. I don't think that was ever mentioned or shown in one of the numerous trailers for the movie.

Get out and enjoy it this weekend! Believe me, people will be talking about it. I really want to talk about it... but I won't.

*sighs*

Why So Serious?

I have a full day tomorrow. It's a full, long day. I have to be at work at 9:30am. I have a stop at the bank before work starts. Once work is over, I have to change clothes, run across town to pick up a friend and head to Council Bluffs.

Why the rush to get to Council Bluffs?

I have two passes to an IMAX screening of The Dark Knight. WOOOO HOOOO!!!!!

To say I'm a fan would be understating things. I own the original Frank Miller book on which the new Batman movies are based. I'm a huge fan of the late Heath Ledger. It should be a great night!

After the drive back, it'll be about 3am, and I have to be at the dentist office at 9am that morning.

Torture really does follow reward.

Wait. Isn't that backwards?

Just Like Starting Over

A new website on a previous standby host. I'm kinda tired of moving and dealing with sites not being available. I think I'll stick it out here no matter what happens.

Not much to say right now. It's late/early. I should be sleeping. I have lots to do in a few hours. So four hours of sleep followed by being out of the house for 16 hours. It should be an interesting day.
